BROOKLYN YOUNG REPUBLICANS OFFICIALLY CHARTERED BY THE NEW YORK STATE YOUNG REPUBLICANS

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The recently re-launched Brooklyn Young Republicans, which are the officially recognized young Republican organization by the Kings County Republican Party, has been formally recognized by the New York State Young Republicans, who voted to charter the organization at their statewide convention this weekend.

“I can’t tell you how pleased I am the NY State Young Republicans have given our organization their blessing,” said Russell Gallo, President of the Brooklyn Young Republicans. “Now we can really get down to work - growing the party and supporting Republican candidates in Brooklyn.”

The New York State Young Republicans, the premier grassroots Young Republican Professional Organization in New York State, took this action at their Spring Meeting on February 26, 2011 in Poughkeepsie, NY, making the Brooklyn Young Republicans the lone representative organization from Brooklyn.

Brooklyn GOP Chair Craig Eaton applauded the decision. “Thanks to the efforts of the Brooklyn Young Republicans and the New York State Young Republicans, Brooklyn can look forward to the 2012 elections with confidence as there will be many young people to pound the pavement for Republican candidates at all levels.”

The next meeting of the Brooklyn Young Republicans will be on March 21, 2011 at the Brooklyn GOP “Victory Center” at 7620 17th Avenue (between 76th and 77th Sts.) at 7:30 PM.

For more information on the Brooklyn Young Republicans, check their official website at http://www.brooklynyrs.com/ or contact Russell Gallo at russell@brooklynyrs.com.

REAL Brooklyn Reform - A History Lesson

Ronald Reagan's friendship with then-Brooklyn GOP Chair George Clark made history.

In his centennial year, everyone is talking about the legacy of Ronald Reagan. But how many people knew what role the Brooklyn GOP had in partnering with him in his march towards the Presidency?

I had some idea from talking to my good friend Phyllis Carbo and seeing her collection of photos and Reagan mementos, but it wasn't until I read about it on BrooklynGOP.com, the official website of the Kings County Republican Committee that I understood the significance and magnitude of the events of that time.

Check it out here.

Grimm Named Chairman of the Republican Policy Committee’s Task Force on Foreign Policy

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Michael G. Grimm (R,C-NY) was selected to chair the House Republican Policy Committee’s Task Force on Foreign Policy. The Policy Committee serves as a forum for discussions of forward-looking legislative initiatives and will engage with members of the Republican Conference to develop strong policy ideas into meaningful legislation.

“I thank Congressman Price for the honor of chairing the Republican Policy Committee’s Task Force on Foreign Policy,” said Rep. Grimm. “I represent a diverse district and my constituents hail from a variety of countries around the world. I am proud to represent their interests as well as the interests of the United States in a legislative capacity in Congress.”

“Congressman Grimm will be an invaluable part of our team and a knowledgeable voice on foreign policy,” said Chairman Price. “As we are often reminded, the interests and security of the United States can be aided or threatened by the actions and activities of other countries. It is vital we remain vigilant and informed on those issues, and I appreciate Congressman Grimm serving the Policy Committee in that capacity.”

Congressman Grimm is a freshman member of Congress who has also recently been named a co-chair of the House Republican Israel Caucus. He has spent a significant amount of time in the Middle East while serving in combat as a United States Marine during Operation Desert Storm

CPAC. Simply Awesome.

All I can say is wow.

CPAC has exceeded my expectations. Tens of thousands of like-minded Republicans under one roof sharing ideas, debating policy, swapping stories, taking pictures and all sorts of things!

So here's the deal - Brooklyn GOP Radio has full-on rock-star access to CPAC. We get to go into any conference, we don't have to wait on line to get into the main convention room, and we get to interview whomever we can grab here at our booth in the Exhibition Hall.

What I was surprised to see was a large contingent of New Yorkers here! Notables have included Councilmen Dan Halloran, Jay Townsend, Betsy McCaughey and Sen. Serf Maltese, all of whom sat down with us and did an interview with us!

And we're meeting a lot of people that we wanted to tell you about - like Dale Peterson, an Alabaman looking to shake up politics with a straight talkin' southern drawl and a passion for the GOP, Saul Anuzis, Michigan GOP Chairman and high-ranking member of RNC, Dave Nalle, chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus and Logan Clements, who rented a Canadian hospital to create a cautionary documentary showing the impending pitfalls of ObamaCare called "Sick and Sicker".

Then there are the little moments that we can't catch on air, which we're doing our best to tweet. Like Donald Trump all but throwing his hat in the ring for 2012, or Jimmy McMillan taking his "Rent is Too Damn High" to a national stage, actually declaring his Presidential aspirations, or a crowd getting fooled by a Sarah Palin look-a-like!

As far as show content, things are SO FAST around here, that we don't have the time to upload and broadcast form here, simply because things are so fluid and always in motion. So we'll announce what we're going to do with all the CPAC content very soon!

Back to the grind - talk to you later!

BROOKLYN GOP RE-LAUNCHES “BROOKLYN YOUNG REPUBLICANS” CLUB; FIRST MEETING ON FEBRUARY 15, 2011.

BROOKLYN, NY - The Kings County Republican Party announced that it is re-launching the Brooklyn Young Republican Club.

Young Republican clubs are chartered throughout New York State with the goal of promoting the Republican Party and to provide an outlet for young people who believe in Republican principles to meet, network and grow.

Craig Eaton, Esq., Chairman of the Kings County Republican Party, hailed the re-launch as a great way for Republicans in Brooklyn to reach out to young people, to increase Republican rolls in the County and to continue the revitalization of the Republican Party, which saw significant growth in the 2010 Election cycle.

“In 2010, the Republican Party in Brooklyn saw a definite county-wide resurgence best exhibited by the election of Michael Grimm to the Congress, Nicole Malliotakis to the State Assembly and the re-election of our great State Senator, Mary Golden,” said Eaton. “This year, we look to build on that momentum by reaching out to young Republicans and creating opportunities for them to get involved within the Brooklyn Republican Party.”

The Brooklyn Young Republicans will be led by Russell Gallo, 32, who is the sitting District Leader of the 47th Assembly District. Gallo, an Iraq War veteran who is currently a Sergeant First Class in the NY Army National Guard, is ready to take on the challenge of organizing Brooklyn Young Republicans.

“Young Republicans in Brooklyn need to be active. We need to support local Republican candidates by helping them get on the ballot and by volunteering on their campaigns,” said Gallo. “We cannot be a useless debating society.”

The group appears to be hitting the ground running, as a contingent of Brooklyn Young Republicans will be attending CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) in Washington, D.C., the large annual gathering of Republican activists that acts as a barometer for national elections.

The first meeting of the Brooklyn Young Republicans will be on February 15, 2011 at the Brooklyn GOP “Victory Center” at 7620 17th Avenue, (between 76th and 77th Sts.) at 7:30 PM

For more information on the Brooklyn Young Republicans, check their official website at http://www.brooklynyrs.com/ or contact Russell Gallo at russell@brooklynyrs.com.
