Weinership v. Leadership
By
Brian Doherty
The voters of the 9th Congressional District of Brooklyn and Queens missed a golden opportunity in November when they failed to elect Bob Turner and opted instead for Chuck Schumer's barista.
The video above is not only a testy exchange between Weiner and Megyn Kelly on the topic of the Estate Tax, it is a loud, clear and "in your face" illustration of the foundational differences between the Democrat philosophy and that of the Republican Party.
Weiner, loudly and unabashedly states that if you are industrious and motivated and become wealthy because of your endeavors and desire to see a better life for your children, that the fruits of those labors are akin to having a good run at the Craps table! That your children should pay an exhorbitant duty on your money because it is unearned!
I cannot share Mr. Weiner's view because I can't imagine a scenario where ANYONE could have done any less to enrich an estate than the Federal Government who in Weiner's estimation should be first in line for the lion's share of it!!
More disturbing however than Weiner's disgusting and socialistic point of view in this debate is his combative, violent and menacing posture while weakly defending his position. This is clearly a man who is unused to being disagreed with and uncomfortable being questioned. Strange qualities for a man whose job it is to debate legislation and who, incidentally has never held any other type of job. When Ms. Kelly asked a question, Weiner deflected it (not uncommon for a politician) but when she persisted, Mr. Hyde began to appear! His jaw became set and clenched. He began to rock back and forth, roll his eyes and slap one hand against the other with an ominous and menacing THWACK!. Then after an uncomfortable moment, he glared into the camera and hissed at Ms. Kelly very sarcastically, "READY"?
Perhaps when Congress begins to drone on about the evils and perils of "violent rhetoric" Rep. Weiner's combatitive, menacing and ill tempered exchange with Megyn Kelly can be typified as rhetoric unbecoming a Member of the House of Representatives!

Glad to meet you!
By
Brian Doherty

About 8 months ago, I filled out an online questionaire with the intention of volunteering for the Kings County Republican Party. I had just retired from the NYPD and as a lifelong Republican, I thought that I could use some of my newfound free time to do something instead of just complaining about the heavily publicized waste, corruption and mismanagement in Albany. I was ready to stuff envelopes, pound the pavement, work the phones or anything else that would help get out the Republican message of fiscal conservatism.
Very soon after, David Storobin called me and we began the first of many conversations that culminated a few short months later with my being nominated as the Republican Candidate for Assembly in the 48th District!!! Believe it or not, that is it in a nutshell!! Things happened that quickly!!
In the ensuing whirlwind, I had the great fortune to become associated with some wonderful people. Chairman Craig Eaton was instrumental in getting my campaign pointed in the right direction. Gene Berardelli and Russell Gallo were kind enough to invite me on the Radio Show where I have very happily become a regular participant and guest co-host. I don't know how many people listen but, let me tell you, recording it has been about the most fun I've ever had. Thank you Gene and Russell!!
A few days ago, Gene once again honored me by inviting me to be a guest contributor to the official GOP Radio Blog!! I readily and happily accepted. Gene, for this and everything else you've done for me, I want to thank you for this from the bottom of my heart!
So this is my first contribution. An introduction, an ice breaker and a heartfelt thank you to all of my new friends for so graciously accepting me into the fold and for trusting me enough to allow me to occasionally put my two cents in here and on the air.
Be sure to listen in Wednesday when I will undoubtedly be tortured for this sentimental offering!

Congressman Michael Grimm Already Making a Difference in Washington
By
Russell Gallo
Congressman Michael Grimm (R-C, NY13) has told the big spenders in Washington to STOP; literally. He has cosponsored and voted for the STOP (Stop The Over-Printing) Act which will save taxpayers $7 million dollars this year alone. The GPO (Government Printing Office) currently prints 325 copies of every public bill and joint resolution and 475 copies of simple and concurrent resolutions. The bills are then distributed to all cosponsors and original cosponsors. As a frame of reference, the health care bill passed last year was about 2,300 pages. With 325 copies printed, that amounts to 747,500 pages of printed paper for the health care bill alone.
While Congressman Grimm was keeping his promise to cut spending the man he beat (Michael McMahon) in November's election was speaking before a liberal Democratic club in Staten Island and clearly demonstrated that he and the Democrats still don't get it. He was quoted by silive.com as saying "I told you I would not move to vote to repeal it [health care], now the guy who got elected [Michael Grimm] wants to repeal the whole thing."
Go Congressman Grimm, go!
Special thanks to my friend Bob Capano for background info for this post.

- The Federal Reserve System
- Running a campaign and whats involved and getting people out to support your party.

David Storobin Featured In The Examiner.com
By
Gene Berardelli
We don't just toot our own horn here at Brooklyn GOP Radio - we want you to get to know friends of our little show as well. Recently, regular Brooklyn GOP Radio contributor David Storobin, Esq. (pictured here with NYC Mayor Bloomberg) was featured in an article advising young people on choosing a career path. As you'll read, David is a bona-fide Brooklyn success story.
Hats off to our friend who offered some great advice - the same kind of great advice you can expect when hiring Storobin & Spodek, LLP.

Pelosi: Arizona Shootings Were A "Tragic Accident"
By
Gene Berardelli
Like I said when I nominated her for Buffoon of the Year, Nancy Pelosi is the gift that keeps on giving to the GOP. Check out this little tidbit. I'd link the transcript of her entire remarks here, but I wouldn't direct my worst enemy to her website. Yeeech.
In what world is a deranged individual shooting innocents ever considered an "accident"?
Answer: California's 8th Congressional District.
What Buffoonery.
