Rise Above Lew Fidler's Hate

I loathe indulging the delusions of Democrats – why engage in a battle of wits with witless wonders? However, there are times when ignorance left unchecked can be dangerous and toxic. This is one of those times.

I refer to Councilman Lew Fidler’s out-and-out lie that the Brooklyn Young Democrats have apparently accepted as gospel – that David Storobin, a young Russian Jewish attorney and fellow Young Republican vying to restore the honor of the 27th Senate seat that disgraced Democrat Carl Kruger stripped from it, has “ties to skinheads, neo-Nazi groups and white supremacist groups.”

No, that’s not a typo. He actually said that. Check out the video.

This is “page 57” from the Southern Brooklyn Democratic “playbook” – race-baiting. It’s a way for Democrats to play on anger and fear in order to drum up support and win votes. It’s also disgusting.

The “basis” for this latest Southern Brooklyn Democrat disgrace is that some hateful individual linked something Storobin wrote several years ago onto a white supremacist forum. Seriously. That’s it.

So how does Fidler get from that to putting Storobin in that group? He doesn't. Because he can’t.Those of us who actually know how the Internet works knows that anyone can link anything just about anywhere that gives them access and there’s nothing the author could do about it. We all know that Lew Fidler is not ignorant of the internet – he comments in forums (sometimes linking things himself) all the time.

There’s only one conclusion. Fidler is race-baiting. He is casting dangerous and harmful aspersions with suspect proof in the hope that it inflames those with such sensitivities and turns into votes.

Long story short – Lew Fidler is a liar. And the Brooklyn Young Democrats swear by his lie.

That’s the only explanation I can draw from Seamus Campbell’s "hit" piece up on the organization’s website, which I refuse to link here (by the way, from Fidler's ridiculous point of view, any link by me of that article here would make Campbell a Republican, but back on topic...) In furtherance of Fidler’s hate-mongering, Campbell “demands” to know why the article that prompted Fidler’s contemptible comments was removed by the source website – like Storobin or anyone else is supposed to know! The Storobin campaign does not run the website. The website has an editorial board and accepts online submissions. Clearly, there can be any number of reasons!

Looks like Campbell is learning the Democrats’ smoke-and-mirror tactics pretty well. He’s asking questions he knows damn well that no one can answer and then argues the non-answer is proof of wrongdoing. It’s intellectually dishonest, but it’s what I’ve come to expect from Brooklyn Democrats.

All of this would be par for the course except this gambit takes contempt to a whole new low – even for Democrats. David Storobin’s story is the story of American Dream. You see, David is a Russian Jew born in the former Soviet Union. At a young age, he was the victim of Soviet oppression and prejudice of the worst kind. He and his family immigrated to America to escape poverty and persecution. His single mother worked menial jobs while David educated himself, graduating college and Rutgers Law School to become an accomplished attorney with his own law firm that has two offices in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

This is the person that Councilman Lew Fidler and his Young Democrat minions expect you to believe is a racist.

Despicable.

I hope you join me in my shock and outrage. For all the talk of "tolerance" that comes from the left, this is the single most horrifying political tactic I have ever witnessed. I also hope you join me in demanding that Councilman Lew Fidler and the Brooklyn Young Democrats immediately apologize for their comments and behavior.

Call Fidler’s office at (718) 241-9330 and demand that he stop stirring up hate for votes and that he stop defaming David Storobin. Send a message that we must rise above Lew Fidler’s hate by supporting David Storobin for State Senate.

Brooklyn GOP Chair Craig Eaton Endorsements - Part II: David Storobin For State Senate!

(This is the second of two endorsements released today by Brooklyn GOP Chairman Craig Eaton)

BROOKLYN GOP CHAIRMAN CRAIG EATON ENDORSES DAVID STOROBIN FOR NEW YORK STATE SENATE

BROOKLYN, NY – Craig Eaton, Chairman of the Brooklyn Republican Party, weighed in with his choice of who he believes should replace disgraced Democrat Carl Kruger as the New York State Senator to represent the 27th Senate District. This is the culmination of a process which began in March of 2011 when Eaton brought Storobin to the New York State Senate Chamber to meet with Senators from around this great State. “I am proud to personally endorse David Storobin for State Senate,” said Chairman Eaton. “David has the makings of a great public servant. He has the intelligence to do the job and the passion for his community to represent them well in Albany. He will remove the stain of disgrace left by Carl Kruger and the Democrats.

“Carl Kruger leveraged the public trust for his own greed and self-interest. It’s a story Brooklynites have heard over and over as of late – one of corruption, abuse of office and disregard for everyday people who deserve better from their elected officials.”

“David Storobin is a true American success story. After immigrating from the former Soviet Union at age 12 with his family, David worked hard from day one, attending college and law school and starting his own successful law firm. Becoming the first Soviet-born State Senator right here in Brooklyn is the perfect continuation of that American success story. “

“But beyond that, David is also a product of the district. He grew up in the district – his values are the district’s values. He will truly represent the district’s interests up in Albany." This race is in many ways the "American Dream" race - an immigrant from the former Soviet Union following his dream, and working to make Brooklyn and the City and State of New York an even greater place for all of his fellow immigrants and residents of the 27th Senatorial District.

Eaton added, “Now that Governor Cuomo has scheduled the Special Election, I urge all Republicans, Conservatives, Democrats and Independents to come out and vote for David Storobin".

Brooklyn GOP Chair Craig Eaton Endorsements - Part I: Mitt Romney for President!

This is the first of two endorsement announcement from Brooklyn GOP Chairman Craig Eaton

Brooklyn's Republican Chairman Craig Eaton has thrown his support behind presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

"I believe Mitt Romney has the vision and leadership America needs in the next four years," said Chairman Eaton.

"Our families cannot survive the continued economic beating they've received at the hands of the Obama Administration," said Eaton.

Eaton added "It's time for a President with hands-on experience in the business world and Mitt Romney's business skills would provide our economy with a steady hand a clear idea of what's needed to turn things around."

Eaton, as the first New York City Chairman to endorse Romney, stated that he will work to elect a slate of candidates in New York's April 2012 Presidential Primary, running as Romney Delegates to the GOP Convention.

Game On!

Well ladies and gentlemen, we have a race this March 20th in Brooklyn! Governor Cuomo has heeded the call of Brooklyn GOP Chairman Craig Eaton and is calling a Special Election to replace disgraced Democrat Carl Kruger in Senate District 27.

As has been noted here as well as other in other places, much of the senate district overlaps nicely with NY-9, which was formerly held by another disgraced Democrat and Buffoon of the Year nominee, Anthony Weiner. That seat was won by a comfortable margin by Republican/Conservative candidate and now Congressman Bob Turner.

David Storobin, a vice-chair of the Brooklyn GOP and a successful attorney is the favorite to receive the Republican and Conservative nods to run in March.

This race won't be easy; no race for a Republican in Brooklyn is. This video has served us here at the Brooklyn GOP well over the past year and I am posting it now for our friend David Storobin.

Brooklyn GOPers Mentioned In "New Yorker" Article

When a bunch of us decided to throw together a Brooklyn GOP Iowa Caucus Watch Party at the "Victory Center" at the last minute, we all thought it would go largely unnoticed. Well guess again! Not only was our party well attended, we have proof!

A few hours before the party, Andrew Marantz, a journalist with whom I had had previous contact, emailed me to discuss putting him in contact with active Republicans to get reactions to the Iowa Caucus as it happened. I replied by saying "why not come to our party?", which he did.

The rest can be read HERE as part of the larger discussion of an old "Google Bomb" that Iowa Caucus "winner" Rick Santorum has yet to clean up:

Despite appearances to the contrary, there are Republicans in Brooklyn. Last Tuesday night, twenty-five of them gathered in a storefront in Bensonhurst to watch the results of the Iowa caucuses. There were Reagan posters on the wall and Domino’s boxes on a table. Gene Berardelli, the law chairman of the Brooklyn Republican Party, took a poll: “Has anyone here actually met someone from Iowa?”

“I watched ‘The Music Man’ last week,” a voice said. “Does that count?”

The room was divided among Romney loyalists, Perry supporters, and libertarians who couldn’t quite stomach Ron Paul. But the story of the night was Rick Santorum. One of the men opened a laptop and Googled “Santorum,” and was shocked at what he found. “That’s ugly,” he said. “That’s not politics. That’s just trying to rip someone down.”

***

Back in Bensonhurst, Russell Gallo, who held the remote, switched to CNN. “Change back to Fox News!” someone shouted. “They have hotter women!” No one in the room claimed to be a Santorum supporter, but Jacob Kornbluh, who writes a pro-Israel blog, said, “I could live with him.”
Andrew definitely caught the fun spirit of the party, which included our own little mini-caucus (Romney won, followed by Rick Perry) and some lively discussion and debate. It's nice that a low-profile casual spur-of-the-moment gathering got some ink - it's things like this that we in the Brooklyn GOP do that don't get headlines that help grow this party back up brick by brick.

We'll probably do again for the South Carolina primary, which is sure to be a turning point in the 2012 Election. Goes to show you - you never know who's showin' up in Brooklyn!

ABC Debate: Romney's Bulletproof... 'Cause No One's Shooting At Him!

So I just got done watching the ABC News debate (if you want to call it that - I personally think it was the best example of mainstream media bias! I mean really, this was probably the worst debate I've witnessed.) and I now have the distinct feeling that Mitt Romney may have just locked up the Republican nomination for President of the United States - by default.

After the shocking results in Iowa, I expected a few things from the candidates trailing Romney. I expected Newt to go for the jugular and "team" with Santorum to bloody Mitt up and bring him numbers in NH down to earth in preparation for a SC bloodbath. I expected Rick Perry to be chomping at the bit to get into the mix with anyone just to stay relevant. I expected Jon Huntsman to have a coming-out party as the scene shifted to New Hampshire. And, I expected Ron Paul to continue being a wingnut with sound grasp of domestic policy, but a dangerous view of America's place in the rest of the world.

Only Ron Paul lived up to his billing.

Romney couldn't have believed it would have been this easy a few hours ago before the debate started. But it was. All he had to do was stand there, sound off with some Presidential platitudes and hope that he wouldn't take much damage. But the damage never came, so Mitt went on the attack - on George Stephanopoulos who, in my opinion, was the worst debate moderator ever. (Pressuring Romney on contraception banning? As one person said on Twitter during the debate, in Georgie's defense, he did have to breach that very subject while working in the Clinton Administration!) and even took a shot at Huntsman (prompting a Catonese retort!) - a sign of Romney's confidence in his debate performance.

If this was what Rick Santorum meant by "Game On", then he's playing the wrong game. In my opinion, he had moments, but fell flat. For the most part, Ron Paul was the most pugnacious - but his barbs were towards everyone BUT Mitt Romney. Newt, as always, was wonky good, sounding like the expert on the stage - but he couldn't pierce Mitt's veneer. Perry even looked to be moving into positive yardage, but then he said how he'd return troops to Iraq - yikes. (Even if you think it's right, how you plan to get elected on THAT platform?!?)

Bottom line - Mitt is starting to pull away from the pack. Everyone else better bring their A games and bring it against Romney, or he'll be the Republican challenger - and next President.

Don't Look Now, Russell Was Right!

I remember during the summer some prophetic words from Russell Gallo on one of our shows - how the Democrats and the President would tout the decrease in unemployment during the holidays and in the new year based on seasonal employment and those no longer actively looking for a job coming of the unemployment rolls.

So when I saw this press release by Rep. Thad McCotter, I immediately thought of him:
The New Year's first unemployment report brings sobering news: 13.1 million of our fellow Americans remain out of work. While we all welcome the news that 200,000 of our fellow citizens have found work and the "official" unemployment rate has dipped one tenth of one percent to 8.5% in December, this rate has persisted at over 8% for 35 straight months. Worse, the misleading practice persists of excluding from the unemployment calculation our fellow Americans who despair of finding a job and are no longer actively seeking for employment. Consequently, when our friends, neighbors and loved ones who are no longer looking for work, along with those only able to find part-time work, are included, America's 'underemployed' rate equates to a staggering 23.7 million Americans (15.2%).
So remember, when watching the news these next few months, go deeper than the headline. It's smoke and mirrors, folks.

The lessons learned: Don't be fooled by the Democratic rhetoric - and always listen to Russell Gallo!

NY State Young Republicans' Video on Kruger, Cuomo & SD27 Special Election

Now this one is creative!

Our friends over at the New York State Young Republicans released a video (seen above) demanding that Gov. Cuomo schedule the SD27 Special Election to fill the seat of disgraced Democrat Carl Kruger. CLICK HERE FOR THEIR ARTICLE.

Going with a theme playing off of Cuomo's "silence" on the issue, the NYSYR put together a tribute to Charlie Chaplin featuring Kruger's "perp walk" in and out of Federal Court with little messages in between.

If you feel as strongly as the NYSYR (and Brooklyn GOP Chair Craig Eaton) regarding SD27, call Gov. Cuomo at (518) 474-8390 or CLICK HERE
