Guest Editorial: The Leftist War on Your Rights

RG - We met Bryan Antico while at CPAC 2013. He is a member of the Smithtown YRs out in Suffolk County. Over the course of that extended weekend, we formed a new alliance with a fellow YR from Long Island - and a new friendship. Bryan is a true patriot and a friend to the Brooklyn GOP/Brooklyn YRs.   Here is what he has to say:

Republicans and Democrats are at it again, but this time the stakes are the God-given freedoms we are guaranteed in our Bill of Rights. Many Republican lawmakers that you may or may not have heard of are taking a firm stand against the President and his liberty-control agenda in the name of our Constitution. It’s really a sad day in America when our own leader (who claimed to be a great supporter of the Bill of Rights) is trying to strip the American public of its basic right to have a firearm.

What some people don’t realize about the issue of gun control is that if we as a nation can’t defend our second amendment; how can we defend the other nine in the Bill of Rights? It’s a scary thought that the next generation is going to have to live in a society where we can’t protect ourselves. The second Amendment was put in place to protect us against a tyrannical government. To explain it a bit better, we won’t need our right to bear arms until our government tries to take it away from us. That time of handcuffing ourselves is slowly approaching and we as Americans must make sure that our voice is heard at the polling place this November (depending on where you live) and every November after that.

I know for all of us, 2016 can’t come fast enough, but we still have a long road ahead of us and I know for a fact that if we stick together as countrymen and women we can beat the liberal machine that is bringing our beloved America to its knees.

So to wrap it all up, we need to do five things to bring the fight to the Democrats and save ourselves before it’s too late: we need to wake up, listen up, vote early, vote often, and vote for freedom.
