A Moral and Religious People

President John Adams once said "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

When we examine this statement we can clearly see that the uptick in attacks on the fundamental, God-given rights, protected by our Constitution is a direct result of the moral collapse of our society.

Politicians, especially in New York (and other big liberal states), violate their sworn oaths (usually sworn to on a Bible) regularly. I contend that it is because of the left's reluctance and outright refusal to acknowledge that evil does indeed exist in this world. Most people that do not acknowledge that there are eternal truths, God-given rights, and "good," can not accept that some people are evil and will do bad things no matter what men, governments, or laws say.

It is no wonder that the left now says that "if we just ban guns we will all be safe." This totally disregards the fact that there are evil-doers (yes- I went there!) that want to do evil deeds all around us.

President George W. Bush called a spade a spade when he said "We've been warned there are evil people in this world. We've been warned so vividly, and we'll be alert. Your government is alert. The governors and mayors are alert that evil folks still lurk out there. As I said yesterday, people have declared war on America and they have made a terrible mistake. My administration has a job to do and we're going to do it. We will rid the world of the evil-doers."

While ridding the world of evil-doers is an impossible task he at least acknowledged the very existence of evil. The left had a mass conniption fit. They thought he was a radical Christian while ignoring that we were actually attacked by radical/evil Islamist terrorists.

Is there any wonder as to why so many leftists today see no distinction between disarming good, law-abiding citizens and locking up and/or putting to death both foreign and domestic evil-doers?

Terrorism is "banned" and it happens. Murder is illegal and happens every day with a variety of weapons.

It is immoral to disarm those that would protect themselves, their families, and their country against evil.
