Stay Classy, New Yorker

The New Yorker recycled a  2012 cover that "out" Sesame Street characters Bert & Ernie to "celebrate" the Supreme Court striking down DOMA.

Spiking the football has never been so offensive.

Liberal rag The New Yorker depicted lovable Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie as a homosexual couple to celebrate the Supreme Court holding that invalidated the Defense of Marriage Act.  

For the record, Sesame Street has stated in 2011 that Bert and Ernie "were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves…they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation."

Yet, The New Yorker and illustrator Jack Hunter, chose to twist the purity of teaching children wholesome, valuable life lessons to sell more magazines. Or indoctrinate children.  You decide which.  

Not only do we give The New Yorker low marks for message, but it gets even lower marks for lack of original thinking - the same cover was rejected back in 2012!  The only difference is the image on the television (which last year, depicted President Obama).   

No one here at Brooklyn GOP Radio is mourning the loss of DOMA - we're states' rights people, and consistently viewed DOMA as a clear over-reach of federal power into the state's constitutional authority to regulate domestic relations.  But, for the love of.... well, whomever you wanna love these days, can't we let the young keep their innocence for as long as they can, or are selling magazines to liberal maniacs more important?
