The Brooklyn GOP has endorsed candidate Michael Grimm, the victor of the hotly-contested primary battle in the NY-13 Congressional race.

On primary night, Grimm won 1,594 votes or 56 percent in the Brooklyn part of the district, to Allegretti’s 1,259 votes, or 44 percent.

Sen. Marty Golden, on hand at Grimm's Brooklyn Campaign Office grand opening at 73rd Street and 13th Ave., said the following of Grimm in a statement released by the candidate’s campaign:

“Washington politicians are taxing us to death. New York has the second-highest taxes in the country. Our economy won’t grow until we end the cycle of taxing and spending.”

“That’s why we need Michael Grimm now more than ever to fight for our families by growing our economy and creating jobs. That is why I am proud to endorse him for Congress.”
