Brooklyn GOP Convention Monday

On Monday the Kings County Republican Party County Committee will elect a chairman.

After the decennial redistricting that was drawn-up and voted on by the members of the New York State Legislature (republicans and democrats alike in the senate and assembly) Brooklyn lost State Senator David Storobin (R) and Congressman Bob Turner's (R) seats.

Several of the more active Republican State Committeemen and Committeewomen were also drawn out of their own districts (in my case by 6 houses) and placed in neighboring districts forcing vacancies and infighting which brought us to where we are today.

Chairman Craig Eaton was at the helm during the recruitment and electoral victories of Congressmen Michael Grimm and Bob Turner, State Senator David Storobin, and Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis. Chairman Eaton was also with State Senator Marty Golden every step of the way for his multiple reelections.

He was instrumental in helping a new and young, Brooklyn Young Republican Club get off the ground and become sustainable while encouraging Gene Berardelli and myself to pursue Brooklyn GOP Radio.

I support his reelection and I hope you will too.

No matter the outcome, the reason we are where we are today was a chain of events started by our elected representatives in the New York State Legislature so I don't think that someone (or really the people that work for one) are the right people to revitalize our party.
