Obamacare is a Yogism

“I never said most of the things I said.” - One of the funniest, and most politically relevant, lines from Yogi Berra.

Clearly, President Obama is channeling the baseball legend in his latest statement on Obamacare. This week, the President told his supporters that he never promised what over 25 video recordings show him promising – that “if you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan”. According to Obama, he never actually said that (see below for evidence to the contrary). He is claiming that he really said that you can keep your health care plan if it hasn’t changed or if this happened or if that happened. So, in Obama’s warped sense of reality, video recordings and his teleprompter speeches should have asterisks next to certain statements so people don’t misinterpret what he is saying to actually mean what he is saying. Or perhaps disclaimers that Obama has the right to alter the statement at a later date and our minds be erased of all evidence of the original statement.

Just like his other contradictory statements:

On the economy….

“If I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s going to be a one-term proposition.” – quote from February 2009 referring to Obama’s promise to have the economy recover swiftly, proving that he and his economic team were utterly clueless about the economic crisis and its long-term nature.

On Guantanamo Bay…..

“Guantanamo will be closed no later than one year from now.” – quote from January 2009 followed by signed orders to suspend proceedings at the facility and to shut it down that year. As of August 2013, 164 detainees remain at Guantanamo, proving that Obama and his team again were utterly clueless about how difficult it would be to have the facility completely closed.

Or previous Obamacare statements.... like the cartoon above where Obama promised the American people that Obamacare was not going to be another tax, and then was thrilled to hear that the Supreme Court deemed it constitutional because it was a tax.

The President is clueless about most things, including his own precious Obamacare. He says one thing to win over the hearts and minds of America, but yet doesn’t follow through or really meant entirely something different all along. What are we really getting with Obamacare? We the people, and our President, don't even know.

  1. Great job, D. Is this a Yogism in the making? How about President Obama's latest comments in Texas that "we are remaking the courts"?
