I've always thought that there's something about David "the 'Stache!" Weprin that nagged at my brain - but I couldn't put my finger on it. The vacant expression, the constant foot-in-mouth disease. Then, after staring at so many pictures of "the 'Stache!" in putting together this blog every night, I realized something. And it struck me like a thunderbolt.
"The 'Stache!" is a celebrity look-a-like! He's a dead ringer for the great comedic actor Peter Sellers.
Don't believe me? Check this out!
What did I tell ya! The great "Inspector Clouseau" himself lives on in NY Politics! In more ways than one.
Now that I think about it, "the 'Stache!" and Clouseau have much in common. Given his penchant for gaffes as of late, he has been kind of Clouseau-esque on the campaign trail. From underestimating the national debt to his duplicity with the voters over his connection to Obama, it's no wonder why the polls show this race slipping through his machine-like fingers.
But he didn't come to be clueless overnight. As Finance Chair in the City Council, "the 'Stache!" was involved in a little mystery of his own. Wasn't he the finance chairman when the so-called "slush-fund" scandal occurred? Isn't the $16 million still missing? Hey, maybe "The Pink Panther" did it!
See those quotes? That's actually what "the 'Stache!" said when the scandal was unfolding before his very eyes! Talk about "Clou-less!" First, he shirks he responsibility and shows what a dolt he really is - I mean, he's only the FINANCE CHAIR... why should he be responsible for WHERE OUR MONEY GOES! Then, when the you-know-what hits the fan, all of a sudden, the buck stops everywhere and nowhere.
How any reasonable person could allow this man to clean their pool, let alone hold public office, is ridiculous. He hides from the truth, dodging and deflecting any hint of responsibility, then the man admits that he knows nothing!
Then again, as Clouseau says, "He who don't know nothing must know something, eh?" Or does he?
