In addition to playing the GREAT interview we did with Sen. Fred Thompson about his new movie Persecuted (opening nationwide on July 18th!), Brooklyn GOP Radio is happy to welcome Lea Carawan, President and Executive Director of the Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation, Inc - a non-partisan, non-profit organization established to unite and mobilize government leaders nationwide who are committed to protecting religious freedom and preserving America’s Judeo-Christian heritage - to talk about their new initiative: In God We Trust.
|Lea Carawan, President and Executive Director of the Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation, Inc comes on Brooklyn GOP Radio to discuss re-affirming our national motto "In God We Trust"|
Here's more about the organization, in its own words:
Tune in tonight to catch all of our great interviews! The reaffirmation of “In God We Trust” is a significant step in protecting and preserving our first amendment right to religious liberty, a freedom that is being threatened by an ongoing battle to remove God from the public domain in America. The word “God” and the motto “In God We Trust” have been challenged, especially regarding their display in public buildings, such as the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center and schools. View the text of H. Res. 13 here.If God is removed from the United States, it allows the government freedom to set the moral order of right and wrong. The Congressional reaffirmation of “In God We Trust” is a move that solidifies the foundation set by the Founding Fathers, who established this nation on the belief that God sets the moral order. If this were to be removed from our nation’s beliefs, it would give the government license to control the lives of the American citizens based on their own moral code. However, our Founding Fathers through the first amendment of the United States Constitution granted every citizen the constitutional right to freedom of religion. This vote reaffirms our constitutional right and serves as a bold proclamation from Congress that God our Creator is still the foundation of our nation’s trust, not man.
