NYC Board of Incompetence?

I read a story in today's NY Daily News that really got me angry. It appears that the NYC Board of Elections missed a deadline set by the federal government to send absentee ballots to our troops serving overseas. This means that members of the armed forces may not receive the ballots in time to be able to fill them out and get them back to the NYC Board of Elections by the November 15th deadline.

As a veteran who served in Iraq I am appalled. And as a former candidate that had several fines levied against me for missing Board of Election and Campaign Finance Board deadlines I want to see the NYC Board of Elections pay dearly for possibly disenfranchising our troops while they are guaranteeing voting rights for Afghans and Iraqis. Those hypocrites can start by refunding me my money.

  1. After reading this sad, story, I think the time has come to get rid of the board of elections.

They have become a stain on the political process, and the fact they cannot not get a simple idea of getting ballots out to the greatest people on the face of the earth, those who fight for our country to have the freedoms we are blessed with.

    Than this is pathetic.

We should throw out who ever runs the board of elections.

  2. So all of our taxpayer money goes to an organization, that can't even get out ballots to those fighting for us overseas?

If this was the private sector, the board of elections would have closed a long time ago.

Maybe it's time we let the private sector run the board of elections?
